Sims 3 had a realistic look. Sometimes the Sims looked liked soulless zombies. Plus with the upgraded CAS (Create a Sim), having it done with a realistic look would of been really diffacult to pull without looking too uncanny vally.
Plus it helps stay truer to the Sims exageratedness style they have sometimes.

Shading for the sims 4 looks dramatically improved. Awesome!

Sigh… I was expecting sims getting more and more realistic. These Sims 4 just look waaaay too cartonish.
    Oh well…

This is really cool. It’s great to see the sims getting better and better with each new generation. In my opinion, the sims 4 sim’s style reminds me of the sims 2.

Very creative, interesting to see the evolution up to TS3, and the *possible* TS4 look!

That is very clever, but I have some constructive criticism for you. I think that it might match better if you use the covers of each games, because they’re more edited. I feel like unlike the rest of the sims that are shown here, the last sim might just be cover art, so it is appears smoother and the art is better. Just a thought. Other than that, this is great, definitely useful because I’ve been looking for a “sims evolution” (:

I very much appreciate your suggestions – it’s really nice to hear some feedback! =)

I definitely agree with you and I guess I just didn’t consider it. Maybe when we see more images or even a screenshot of the game we can see how different it is and I may make another one. It was just cleaner using screenshots as all of them feature a straight on view of Bella Goth. (it is not confirmed that The Sims 4 image is of Bella Goth, but it looks pretty much like her!)
